Despite the constant noise in these forums, there's nothing topical that you can buy right now that works for oil control. I thought I'd post about the state of topical drugs in the pipeline that might actually work:
JNJ-10229570 by johnson & johnson
This is a melanocortin 5 receptor antagonist used to reduce oil. It's at the beginning of a phase 2 trial at the moment. This is a huge company so if all goes well these guys might be faster to the market than the smaller companies listed below. If you live in the USA you might be able to join this program and get access to medication years ahead of public release. Check out the clinical trials link.

MTC896 by mimetica
This is another melanocortin 5 receptor antagonist used to reduce oil. It's in a phase 2 trial at the moment. Not sure when it might be on the market but given this is a small company they might need some money / help to get there.

CB-03-01 by cosmo
This is a topical anti androgen that can be used for both acne (I presume through oil control) and hair loss. They've done a phase 2 trial for use in acne.
