basically ive been on diane for 12 months now, and for the first half of this year i also took spiro. I was 99% clear the whole time. I went off spiro (25mg) and 4 months since my face is a war zone its extreme. diane isnt keeping me clear which is frustrating because its really just known for keeping skin clear and it worked for my sister for 3 years so far. I guess it was the spiro keeping it all clear but im not sure what to do...why would the spiro keep me clear on such a small dose but not diane ? i dont wanna go off diane in fear my face will get even worse which i cant deal with right now but i dont wanna go on spiro.. im curious if spiro can be just as damaging as diane?
Spiro Safer Than Diane?

I have no answer to your question, but if you don't want to go back to spiro I would try spearmint tea, it could have the same effect as spiro. But really spearmint tea and not peppermint, they are different. I used peppermint tea before and did nothing for me, while spearmint tea has reduced my oiliness. Two cups a day.
Also since your acne gets worse two weeks before your period, may be try vitamin b6(P5P not the common Pyridoxine ) and zinc, take a look a this link: http://www.health-di...search/acne.htm. Plus I have also read that BCPs can deplete your body of certain vitamin and minerals. I think I'm going to try this combo myself sometime soon because I get a small whitehead here and there around one week before my period, nothing bad but it's worth a shot I think. Also something I was looking into was cod liver oil for the vitamin a since I want to improve my red marks and complexion in general, but I'm a bit afraid of it because fish oil has made break out before so this is what I have been doing instead, I eat twice a week calf liver, I know sounds kind of gross but that stuff is so nutrient
densed , look it up, has lots of zinc, vitamin a, vitamin Bs, etc. I can say for sure but I really think my oiliness and complexion has improved with only a couple of weeks of this. I'm not a friend of taking so many supplements because we don't know what we are really deficient of and can end up making things worse which happened to me last year, but I think this approach is safe to try for one month, also keep in mind vitamin B6 has been shown to lower prolactin levels which has been linked to acne as well.
Now regarding topical, my acne was pretty hormonal as yours I think but it calm down a lot spot treating with Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque at night and day a bit of tea trea oil diluted with hemp oil or jojoba oil 50/50.
