she asked about my nationality and my ability to tan.. she said "you look italian is that true?" I said yes... and that i tan very easily.. two days in florida and im very bronze.

if she has experience doing fraxel, u should be fine. she will probably prescribe some skin lighteners to help combat the hyperpigmentation.

yeah she gave me a skin bleaching cream about 2 weeks ago ive been using every day... my fraxel restore is next wednesday.. she was the 2nd highest rated plastic surgeon/dermatologist in my area.. the other was a little too far for me to travel though.

$1000 for fraxel restore 8pass and subcision i think is a good deal

got damn, thats expensive. have you heard of at-home derma rolling/skin needling. i would give that a try before i spend that kind of money. most reviews are great. and it cost $5-40 depending on what kind/brand u get.

Probably 10,600 and it is the only thing that has ever improved my scars. By peoples reaction I would say 80%, and I am juggling 3 girl friends right now.

Just went in today for my 2nd subcision and fraxel restore... she used 18g needle for subscision on my rolling scars on cheeks.

Then did a 55/11 on my face. It burns more this time than last time.. demerol really helps though

going back again february 24th for the 3rd fraxel/subcision

im going to ask the nurse next month for her pictures she took before the 1st fraxel and after the 2nd one. My cell phone takes bad pics and the lighting doesnt do it justice..(makes it look not as bad as it really is)

In terms of lasers I've had seven fraxel restore treatments and two or three vbeam treatments. The doctor you have will make a huge difference in regards to explaining realistic results and potential side effects. I went in to my treatments extremely desperate and wishful without the knowledge or anywhere near the knowledge I have now. As a result, my experience with restore was disastrous. After seven treatments I guess my scars look more smoothed out but the depth is still very apparent. I believe the vbeams are what got rid of the severe redness I was battling for years but fraxel could of helped with that too. Im just glad my sessions were only 500 each. Can't imagine the added pain if I paid 1500 or so for each which was the general charge back then.

I forgot to add the fact that much of my non scarred skin is completely riddled by uneven skin tone as a result of fraxel. Im not that dark perhaps olive in colour but do tan easily. I specifically requested the dumb ass doctor not to touch my healthy skin and he ignored this twice stating that he was doing me a favour wtf. Anyway, another thing is the downtime. Doc claimed Id look a little sunburned for a few days and that'll be it. They market this as a lunch break procedure. First session I looked like a burns victim for a fortnight then experienced extreme peeling where my whole face was white in skills peels as if I had been burned by acid. I rang the clinic several times during this nightmare and sent in pics and their response was that my recovery was normal LOL. I could continue for days but whatever. Not claiming my experience is at all majority but it's not unique if you do your research and meet people who also did fraxel. I can't imagine the sides id experience with repair.

I dont know where that rant came from lol but my clinic is ranked #2 in north east ohio.. the other was 70 miles away and this one was only 30 so I went to them.. She told me straight up my scarring is medium to deep. I have rolling scars on my cheeks and 2 or 3 dented box scars. She said I would need 3-5 treatments of fraxel restore to see 50-70% improvement but realistically would need all 5. She told me after the first procedure after a month I would feel like nothing was changed but to give it time because it is a process etc etc...

I paid 500 for a fraxel restore 50/10 8 pass and subcision on both cheeks on December 2nd. Then again 500 for fraxel restore 55/11 8 pass with subcision on both cheeks on January 27th.

I was really red for 3 days with my first restore and today is the first full day after my procedure and im much more red than last time. Luckily I have off work till next Wednesday but I hate that I cannot go to the gym or anything im dyin in my house playing call of duty all day lol.

I have a 3rd restore and subcision scheduled for February 24th (I am going to Florida March 12-18). I might cancel it and have it done after I get back but we will see in a week or so after my swelling and redness fades.

After the first one you could tell they have raised a little... they are far more bruised and tender after this subcision i think she used a bigger needle.. she used 16g this time not sure what she used last time... either way i was so numbed up i didnt feel a thing

the whole process makes sense.. subcision to lift and fraxel to smoothen out... i hope i see more progress from this appointment than the first.

I know how you feel... same thing with me... accutane cleared my acne 100% but it left bad scarring.. I had 0 scarring before I went on it. Ill update this in about a week to let everyone know my progress after 2 procedures.

Yes I would love to know as well. Im just about over my acne that i had for about 10 years so i definitely need some help with scarring. And Fraxel seems to be what everone is talking about, but not in a positive way. Posted Image

people expect miracles after 1 session... theres a reason they tell you 3-5 treatments to see improvement... they cant just saw your face off all at once it has to be gradual

and you're not going to have 100% improvement... 30-70% is reasonable to expect.
