I have been taking two 408mg capsules for about 5 years now.

Are there any adverse side effects for long term use?

Thanks

I thought a tetalysal course was only supposed to last 3 months or I could be wrong?

I dont know, i started 4 or 5 years ago and it was working well then got worse again so went to see a dermatologist about two years ago and was going to go on the retinal A thing or whatever it is the really strong treatment that gets rid of acne perminantly but opted against it because i read some serious side effects on it.

Now, after 2 more years on lymecycline i suddenly thaught, wow i've been on this a long time maybe I should go see the doctor about it

I took Lymecycline for nine months. It was initially a three month course which I doubled, then I just carried it on from month six through nine as I considered what to do next. I can't imagine being on the same thing for five years. That just doesn't seem like a good idea to me and I can't imagine that it does much good by that point. Does it still work for you or is your body used to it now? Surprised and indeed shocked that a doctor would be willing to prescribe it for five years straight. To me, taking it all that time without things coming to an end goes a long was to show that antibiotics can only do so much and they only really mask the cause of acne on an internal level. Long term use can impact on the bodies ability to fight infection and it may also reduce the functionality and efficiency of certain organs. It would certainly pay to seek professional medical advice if you’re worried about the impact so much antibiotics could be having on your body, or if you’re looking for other ways to treat your skin.
