I have been pondering whether this is truly acne or if it is some sort of allergic reaction or infection. Does anyone else see a pattern of itchy first, then cyst? Is that a normal occurrence? I am so sick of fighting acne, or caking make-up on spots & generally trying to avoid close contact with others.
First It's Itchy, Then It Becomes A Cyst?

Hi, all. I have suffered from various types of acne since puberty, and have faced cysts & more severe acne in the last 6 or 7 years (I am 37). The pattern that I'm dealing with now is that my skin will get terribly itchy for a day or two (I try not to scratch, but...), then a huge tender cyst will emerge. Usually I have a swollen, red spot for weeks and often they scab and then peel. I have spots like this around my jawline, on my neck, and on my chest.

When I am about to get ANY sort of pimple my skin will tingle and feel itchy. I never scratch it, because generally I have makeup on...it will only be itchy once or twice, and only for a minute or two and then it seems to pass until the pimple finally shows its pretty face the next day.
My skin definately has a sensation, though, before a pimple is even visable...so thats when I know I'm about to get one, and generally - I ALWAYS will get one after that feeling.
Now with cysts, it's like that aswell, if I recall.....it's been about 6 months or so since I have had a full blown cyst, and I only get them on my right cheekbone.
the spot where a cyst is forming, it'll be more of a twinge feeling...hard to describe...it's a strange sensation. I'll just feel this weird feeling on my cheekbone, and in a day or two a cyst is slowly forming, and then it'll chill there on my face for 2-4weeks. Once the cyst is finally fully blown it'll be painful....a pulsating feeling, twinges, it'll make the side of my face go numb or feel like it's tingling.

yup. I went and did the water only regime for about a month, and thats when the itchiest was at its worst
then I found out about demodex, it made sense to me, and I tried the creams from demodexsolutions.com. They REALLY helped to eliminate the itchiness on my face. I do still get itchy when I get a spot (theres this guy on my chin that keeps itching! I dont scratch but its mildly annoying). Really research the connection to demodex and acne.

I've had this problem with cystic acne. Many many times in the past. It's itchy because you are actually feeling the sebum/keratin getting pumped out of the gland into that area below the skin. There's nothing one can really do about it but wait until your body starts to fight it which in turn will turn into an inflamed red spot.

I found this post by searching "Does Cystic acne itch?" obviously I'm not the only one with this symptom I'm 25 and just over the past few months have started breaking out with this "Cystic Acne" on my jawline and neck! I feel like its beyond my control nothing I do helps. Does anyone have anything that helps with breakouts?
