I keep reading on this board that Diane 35/Dianette is "not recommended for long-term use", or that your doctors wanted you off of it after a certain period of time.

Why is this? And is this true for all cases or only some? Has anyone taken Diane 35/Dianette long-term, and if so, has it caused problems?

I haven't been on Diane35 for very long, but my doctor has said nothing about taking me off of it, he told me that I can stay on it as long as I want.

im also curious. ive been on it for a year. my sister 3 but i think it was because the risk of blood clots? im not sure and im also not sure if its more directed at people who have a family history or not. basically the clots can kill you if it happens to you depending so i assume thats the reason diane is dangerous, but every drug has their risks..
