I've been kind of lurking here for a few days and I've finally worked up the courage to make a post and ask for help.

So I've been conducting experiments on my face in desperation to find the perfect combination of medication. Sadly, after much trial and error, I've given up on almost all topical medication. I have decided to take the vitamin route with a few facial cleansers. Here's my arsenal of weapons that I take once daily:

Vitamin E 400 IU
Fish Oil (contains Omega-3 300mg)
Zinc Tablets 50mg
Vitamin D3 2000 IU (as cholecalciferol)
Ice Cubes MANY

Things that I may take if I feel dirty, pop a pimple (oops), or just feel like it:

Clean & Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent- salicylic acid acne medication
Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating Astrigent- salicylic acid acne medication

^^ I apply both with cotton pads.

Now my acne isn't all that bad compared to others and it's all probably hormonial but, like everyone here, I would like a clear face! I will post pictures later so you can decidon what would be the best path of action. I'm 16 (closer to 17) by the way and have had acne since April 2010.

EDIT: Pictures...

All of those are good supplements to take for overall health, not just your skin. But what form is your zinc in? The only 2 I would personally recommend are Zinc Picolinate and L-OptiZinc because all other forms are poorly absorbed by the body and you may be taking 50mg when in reality only 10mg of that is being absorbed and the rest you shit out, so 40mg is kind of a waste of money.

The skin where you don't have acne looks healthy and doesn't look scarred, so that's a good sign.

Thanks for the reply chunkylard, the only areas I have acne (on my entire body) are on cheeks of my face and (sometimes) my chin. I don't really worry about my chin, though. I'm not really sure what exact form my Zinc is in... here's an image of the bottle:

^^ The ingredients list reads: Zinc Gluconate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Dicalcium Phosphate, Croscarmellose Sodium, Stearic Acid, Hypromellose, Magnesium Stearate, Polyethylene Glycol, Natural Flavor.

Also, progress is slow but I do see some positive results:

I would def recommend getting another more bioavailable form of zinc and taking it with some source of protein such as meat or fish. Don't expect miracles from it, but it should help a tiny bit.
