Most lesions (benign or malignant) will in some way need to be connected to the vascular system to maintain nutrition and provide an optimal environment for cancerous cells, infections, or the simple accumulation of sebum (as is the case with sebaceous cysts). In this manner, it's unusual for a relatively simple, obvious lesion to be inoperable, especially if your surgeon is specialized in the subject.

As the condition is likely isolated to the dermis/epidermis, your dermatologist would definitely be your best bet. That said, though it never hurts to ask for him to take a closer look, he is an educated, competent individual that completed years of schooling, and even more in specializing in dermatology: if he says it's benign and transient, odds are he's right (however frustrating it may be).

Good luck. Posted Image

Would it be possible to get this x-rayed (probably an ultrasound) or something like that? If so, how would I go about getting that done?

ive had a very similar issue for THREE years now

it all started with a huge bump near my cheek. this zit(or cyst) was huge. i could not pop it.

after 1 month, the pain went away in this bump.

it started to flatten out. but after 2 more months, i noticed it would "pulsate".

its been this way for 3 years now.

going to a dermo this week. i wonder what he'll say. the bump is hardly noticable in normal light. but under certain lights you can see it. it isnt huge, but it's medium sized, and pulsates .

it's white, and feels like an "air bump" on my face. when i push down on it, there is no pain and no hardness.

I think we probably have something very similar. Please let me know what you find out.
