Hey guys, my skin is very dry and flaky because of the BP and the lack exfoliation (as it is discourage in the regimen). Though the scale like appearance disappears after moisturizer, any amount of make up will immediately cling to the dry skin patches and make my face look extremely cakey. Has anybody suffered from this before? What are some good ways to deal with it? Thanks in advance!

You could try adding a few drops of jojoba oil to your moisturizer, use a good primer before applying foundation, or try using AHA at night in place of your moisturizer to slough off dead skin cells.
Also, if your skin tends to get flaky, I'd steer clear of powder foundations and find a light liquid foundation and set it with a powder or finishing veil so you're not spreading powder onto the flakes which tends to make them stand out more.
If you have been using BP for a while you should have no problems using AHA, just remember to use a moisturizer with UV protection if you do decide to use it.

I've experienced this problem myself, and you just have to tweak your routine. What I do is use a moisturizer, then apply a hydrating primer all over the skin with a synthetic foundation brush. This will catch any flakes before the foundation has the chance to. Then when I apply my foundation, I add a few drops of a water-based hydrator like Clinique Moisture Surge to the foundation on the back of my hand before applying it with a damp sponge. You could also just apply the foundation/moisturizer any way you wanted, then blend over with a damp sponge at the end if that's easier. If you need more coverage, you can always go back and apply the foundation over specific areas without the moisturizer mixed in, but this first layer should help control some of the texture issues. Hope this helps!
