I tried that but never made it past the first stage. It was how i leaned that I have a reaction to any sort of meat broth or stock.
Meat broths are very healing, you most likely had a detox reaction. You have to use homemade broths.

Gaps is one way to do it, but certainly not the only way. I believe this is a solid system but very extreme. Acne isn't autism... In my many many thousands of hours of study have came to the conclusion that different things work for different reasons. A lot of it ties to blood sugar regulation as I made in my flagship post. Once you regain that everything gets easier.
Bottom line: You think there is only one way to do everything.... When you fully understand the system from different perspectives you realize things are not quite as straight forward and "simple" as you once thought.
It is not just for Autism-lol. It is for healing the gut plain and simple. If you have ever spent anytime on any GAPS forums you will see there are people there for many different reasons as well as acne, eczema, psoriasis, crohns etc. People use this diet to heal the gut. The intro phase is extreme, however not everyone needs to start at the intro diet, the Full GAPS diet is more like a Paleo type diet and is not extreme. For those who do choose to start with the intro, if you only have Acne and NOT Autism than you may only need a day or two on the intro diet which isn't that hard. No not everything works for everybody that is true as we all have unique gut flora and unique circumstances, I do think we all pretty much agree that the way to health is through the gut. I personally merge both the Specific Carbohydrate Diet and the GAPS diet, everyone ultimately has to make tweaks to find what brings them healing, although the end result is always the same. Heal the gut, restore health.
