Hi all,
28year old male, fairly young looking and probably not fully through with puberty if I had to be honest with myself. That said I've never had an issue with oil or with moderate acne. I've always battled the occaisionaly pimple here and there but generally fairly clear, and definitely clear around the forehead and scalp. The past 4 months or so I've noticed a gradual worsening of my forehead. Its very noticeable immediately after a shower, with numerous red bumps, lots of closed comedones, a bumpy sandpaper feel from my temple and eyebrows up to the base of my scalp. This condition often fades after 20/30 minutes and blends into the colour of my face. However I find that its often itchy, and gets very very oily during the evening hours of the night. When I say oily I mean that if I wipe off my forehead with my arm I can see a clear very shiny mark on my arm. I've never had this before, and being 28 I am making the assumption that this is not a hormonal change. I have been seeing a Demotologist for the past month, next appointment is Tuesday I will update after my visit. Because of how oily/itchy my face has become I've thought that this is possibly not acne but something else (bacterial/fungal, I had no idea) I stumbled upon a few posts on this and I believe this is a strong candidate to be the source of my problem. If anyone else out there has had a similiar problem please let me know the course of treatment. I just purchsed Nizoral Shampoo and am going to start washing my scalp and face(temple, eybrows uip) and see if I have any luck with decreased oil production.
Also, I have an appointment for my big toe in late November, I've had a "fungus" on it for the past three years, and recently its spread to my other big toe so I feel its time to get it looked at. This fungus cause my toe nail to turn and yellowish/purplish colour and it dosen't grow properly and generally looks deformed. The rest of my finger nails and toe nails are fine. I don't think the two issues are related, but it would make sense that if my body is capable of being infected with one "fungus" then contracting a second seems possible.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I really hope this is the root of my issues because I have no good answer for the increase in oil production and this seems like a strong possibility. Although I don't have dandruff, but I do moisturize twice a day so is it possible that I by moisturizing I am preventing dandruff? do they have to both be apparent or can you have a fungus without dandruff?
Thanks, I will update this post on tuesday unless someone has any questions for me.

-Only read title and skimmed through post.
-Get topical nizoral cream 2%. Needs prescription.
-Use on face as many times per day as possible for one week. Problem will completely resolve.
-Maintain by using once or twice per day after washing face in morning/at night.
-Use nizoral shampoo on scalp.
-Do not wash face with nizoral shampoo. The scalp skin is not as sensitive as the facial skin to having it's carefully balanced lipid layer ripped off by a harsh surfactant such as shampoo. Wash face with warm water until any oily residue is rinsed away. Use light abrasive action of your finger tips to 'exfoliate' any crispy skin off every time you rinse your face with water.
Follow the above steps and you will be clear in one week and see improvement within 2 days. Nizoral will not affect oil production. It's anti-dht effects are nil to negligible. Lower polyunsaturated fat intake (all oils and sauces and anything fried in oil) to reduce oil output.
