I paint. Pictures. You get it. Well, when I was 21, one of the biggest, reddest cystic pimples EVER cropped up right on the center of my cheek. I thought that if I just dabbed some super thick, possibly toxic, ultra smelly Rembrandt oil paint on it (along with a few additional well placed strokes of paint in other places), people would just think I was messy and cute or something.
Uhm....it got horribly infected. Burned sooo badly. Had a scar for the longest time. Oh, and the first person who saw me- who just happened to be a crush- asked, "So, are you trying to a cover a pimple or something? What's with the bump?" ....................

My brother used it too, though. I noticed his face was a little red after he came out of the bathroom (he has somewhat dark skin), and I could smell it. It just made me feel I wasn't the only one!

Last winter, I saw the band Faithless in concert. Because it was cold anyway, I was wearing a scarf and I'd got my jacket zipped up. I tend to wear my scarf so that it covers my chin, just because that's how I like it. At that point, I happened to have a huge red pimple bang in the middle of my chin, so the scarf came in handy. Nobody would have thought anything of it whilst we were stood out in the cold waiting to get into the show, although I did get a few funny looks by the end of the night when I'd watched the entire show with the scarf still pulled up over my chin.
Probably the one which sticks with me for all the wrong reasons is from about ten years ago. It was so much a cover-up, more of a story to explain why my skin looked the way it did. I was in school and had a really bad breakout. I'd made a total mess of my face one evening and absolutely destroyed everything in sight so my face was all red and sore and scabbed. I went to school the next day and I knew my face looked disgusting because of what I'd done. My friend at the time asked me what had happened because he thought I'd been beaten up. It really hurt to think that people could see my skin as being that bad, but it just showed how much damage I'd done. Without even thinking, I went along with that theory and said that I'd gotten into a fight the night before. That was totally out of character for me - I've never been in a fight, never even thrown a punch in my life - but somehow they bought it and I spent the rest of the week receiving sympathy from students and teachers alike as I "recovered from my injuries". I did learn something from that - I've never done that degree of damage to my face since. Pleased to say that I don't really get the opportunity now as my skin is nowhere near as bad as it once was years ago.

This is what I generally do. Haha.
The last time I went to my dermatologist (you know, sans makeup?) I wore party glasses. I also wore this giant scarf conveniently placed. I got into a huge argument with the hospital security, haha.
After my derm appointment I felt ridiculous and did some shopping at the mall nearby the hospital. I felt empowered not being covered up, but I haven't been able to do it again since =S.
