[FSAS]

It seems like every possibility over the years just died horribly, like it was either never followed up or the companies stopped the research. do we now if there is still research being conducted on something for example a new drug or whatnot to help acne? how do people find a reliable source for updates or any news?

i actually saw the commercials for the TKL acne here in New Jersey. it was for moderate to severe acne, so this must be a serious topical. but what the hell is ASC-J9 creams??

i just googled it. this seems to be a different kind of drug that has never been used before in its mode of action. it actually degrades androgen hormone receptors on the skin, which will stimulate the sebaceous glands less.

heres another link. they have had multiple studies starting from 2008, but i think they are trying to find an effective concentration that is not detrimental as well. cause what i have noticed is that the latest studies seem to increase the concentration of the drug.

thanks for the links. I wish i was in the US lol.
I'm wondering thought with all these trials how to we know when or if a new topical or treatment is available ? whether by prescription etc?

thanks also for the link. I was reading that post/discussion on it and it seems promising (as they all do haha) the whole topical anti-androgen. do you know if theres any new news about it? I was looking on the website and stuff but i might be looking at the wrong things >.< its 2011, do you know if they've updated or whatnot? is there any more info of the topical ?

well a lot of those topicals are in phase 2 clinical trials, so till they get to phase 4, sometimes rarely phase 3, you really dont see them in the market. that means like 5 years from now if the treatment is successful and it doesnt have harmfull effects. (

as far as that ASC-J9 cream, it is been tested right now in phase 2 here in the states and in taiwan. theres actually a company here where i live that is recruiting ppl right now. however, i would rather participate in phase 3 trials, since i still dont know how effective and safe this drug is. when it gets to phase 3, i would feel more assured. also, sometiems, you get to keep the drug in phase 3 trials if you participate in the study.

its frustrating, i understand why it needs to take so long but it seems like every years its "another 3-5 years" more for something -_-
I'm really interested in updates though, thats the exciting thing.

I agree. Oh how amazing a vaccine would be. I'd love to know if any company out there is even researching for a vaccine? seems like theres like you mentioned just more products companies are spending years on. although i really wouldn't mind that if the product was medicated pretty much and literally did change our skin enough so wouldn't break out type thing.

Sanofi is researching an acne vaccine but its on phase 1 so anywhere from 7 to 10u years from now.
