Hi, I am upset because my skin seems to be screwed up again after a long period of remission, and one of those problems is oily skin that is then followed by excessive dryness after I try to address the oil and breakouts with various treatments. Most moisturizers contain products that aren't appropriate for my skin. Any good recommendations out there?

Well, my friend i know different people will advise different things. But i guess you are having this problem because of you food habit. I guess you should drink more water and eat vegetables. Using moisturizers can't be a permanent solution. Will you tell me what type of food you generally eat?

Dr. Asarch is my dermatologist... or at least I go to his practice. He's incredible, written a lot of books, and he has these products. My pores are basically oil factories, or at least they were, but I got the oil free moisture cream from Asarch's line and it has seriously done wonders. It is very hydrating but it controls oil really well. Which is hard to find. I'm one of those girls that seriously 90 minutes after I put on a water based foundation I am shiny. It's $34, but it's lasted me about 6-8 weeks so far and it's not gone yet so I think it's worth the investment. I also use it twice a day. You might be able to get away with once.

Refer to that topic I just posted as well that is supposed to be good for oily skin.

Although an unhealthy diet can eventually lead to acne, it's not really a direct cause of acne. Although he's right, if you eat things that are nutritious, you will have more nutrients for you your skin.
my recommendation is to use AVEDA's OUter Peace Acne Relief Lotion. It contains salicylic acid, but not an overwhelming ammount that will irritate or overdry. It provides a light-medium moisture but also contains ingredients such as tamanu, amla, and bosweiila to reduce the inflammation and redness acne can cause.
