So I'm new to the site and need some advice from people with the same problem! Here's my story; I started off on doxycycline for moderate acne, it worked at first but I started to slowly get acne again. I was on it for 9 months when I stopped, after a few weeks my acne came back with revenge. WORST acne I've ever experienced. I went from moderate acne before any medication to sever acne. I'm now on minocycline 100mg twice a day. I've been taking it for a little over a month now but my face is still terrible, I see a little improvement but not much. I also use Aczone cream in the morning and Epiduo at night. I guess my question is how long should I wait to see more improvement with taking the minocycline?

When I was taking minocycline, I cleared up within 2 months, but then again, I was also taking Yasmin birth control pill, so those two things sped up the process of getting clear..so yes it works...

Antibiotics do work, but I would suggest that you not take it for too long. I was just on minocycline for about half a year and it completely cleared me up, but after your body gets used to antibiotics, then your acne could potentially come back much worst. I'm now on accutane, not sure if that's the route you want to take though. So yes minocycline does work, but since you've already been on an antibiotic...I don't think you should stay on them.
