So I was a big Everyday Minerals fan until they discontinued my summer color, and then altered the Intensive formula (which is now discontinued also). I also wasn't happy with the direction of the company, so I began a new quest for a new MMU brand to meet all of my demands. With a hard-to-match light olive skin tone, an acne prone & oily complexion, and need of heavy coverage, I can be pretty picky about my makeup.
I tried Bare Minerals Matte formula for my summer shade, and the Golden Fair is great. However, it's too dark for winter.
So after trying Alima, Adorned with Grace & a few other MMU companies, I think I've found my new brand: Lumiere Cosmetics. They have natural colors, especially if you need golden or olive undertones in light shades. With the "Flawless Face" formula, you get a natural matte finish, good oil control, and full coverage without cakey-ness. Plus, the prices are super reasonable. I also liked the Cashmere formula, although it has less coverage.
For those of you who use/used EM & are an "olive girl", here are the shades I used and what I use now:
Everyday Minerals - former foundations
Winter foundation - Olive Fair Intensive (or Matte)
Summer foundation - Sweet Almond Intensive (2:1 ratio of Olive Fair + Olive Medium)
My new choices are...
Summer: Bare Minerals - Golden Fair Matte; possibly may use Lumiere Cosmetics in Medium Golden Flawless Face
Winter: Lumiere Cosmetics - Light Golden Flawless Face
Lumiere Flawless Face Ingredients: premium grade serecite (colorless mica), titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxides, boron nitride, silica, magnesium stearate, squalane
Lumiere Cashmere Ingredients: real silk powder, serecite (colorless mica), titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, boron nitride, iron oxides
