I have.. it worked wonders but i did not know what it was.
It cleared me up in a week because it helped reduce all swelling of pimples. I thought it was a miracle drug but I ran out and went back to my dermatologist and he didn't want to give them to me because he said I was over dosing -___- why would he give them to me in the first place. GAHH!
they were STEROIDS!! I should have asked more questions.

symptoms: my back was getting fat, my face was getting round. they were weird side effects.

I think my face is not that round anymore but I my back is still thick. And my acne is back to being severe. -____-

I was just prescribed prednisone 4 days ago, and it's clearing up my skin. I was in a hot tub 5 months ago which I think gave me flesh-colored bumps all over my face. The bumps were itchy, and manifested into pustules, then my face because severely red, thick, crusty, and scaly. I was at my wit's end because nothing would help it at all, it just kept changing and manifesting and moving around on my face. I'm hoping the 6 days of prednisone and a month of doxycycline will knock out the infection for good. I hope....

How soon did your acne come back after stopping the steroids?

I was on them for 30 days. I was getting "addicted" to them so my derm didn't want to give them to me anymore. So my acne swelled up right after. My acne has came back no matter what ive done. Ive never had clear skin. I started getting acne at twelve and over the years it gradually got worst. I am now eighteen. Prednisone is going to help you ALOT with any swelling. Doxycycline will work..ehh give it three months? Your acne is probab;y a infection so its easier to get clear but my acne is hormonal so antibiotics don't do much for me. I was on doxy for three months and did nothing for me.

My derm wouldn't prescribe me Prednisone no matter how much I asked, she said that dermatologists never prescribe steroids to cure acne unless it was like severe acne or a bad reaction to accutane. I've heard a ton of positive feedback from the drug though, even though there are risks to taking the steroid I don't see them outweighing the emotional impact from acne as long as you're not on it too long. In any case...I don't really trust my derm anyway, considering she left me on antibiotics for forever.

I thought the same thing regarding never hearing of a derm who would give someone steroids for acne. I had acne several years ago during college and went to derms in high school and college, 3 derms, plus I read a LOT online about causes of acne and spent 1000's of hours researching and trying different things. But I never heard of giving someone steroids for acne.

They worked really well the first two days, almost clearing me up, miraculously, but now that it's the 4th day, I seem to be getting deeper pimples around my mouth and below my cheekbones in the middle of my cheeks. I don't think that what I have is acne though, it came on so suddenly and since I know how acne behaves and how it behaved for me when I had it, this is just different and strange. Anyway... The steroids worked almost immediately but seem to be wearing off after a few days.

I haven't been prescribed Prednisone. What i have known that Prednisone is a steroid with a good number of side effects. Some are-

• increased appetite
  
• indigestion
  
• nervousness or restlessness
  
• Less Frequent or Rare Side Effect
