Let's get a good thread on this where we can pool our knowledge. I don't have any regime or anything like that but I want to start one. The blackheads on my nose really annoy me.

I understand that many people use Salicylic Acid. Back in the day I tried this product when I had bad inflamed acne and all it ever did was make it worse so I steer clear of that stuff. I have sensitive/combination skin. I'm sure it works for others though - have you personally managed to treat blackheads well with it?

What are your views on Mandelic Acid? I've read many good things about it here but I remain skeptical. I'm thinking about getting some. Have you had success with it? I've read that it's meant to eliminate blackheads and reduce pore size. If you use it for long enough, any chance your pores will stay like this and the blackheads will be permanently gone? Do you have to use a moisturizer with it?

Please post any products you have used that have genuinely helped you with your blackhead problem. Thanks!

Well, even though above I said Salicylic Acid has never been good to me (for when I tried using it for my acne which was worse in the past), I've just ordered Paula's Choice 2% BHA after reading reviews. As I've said in my opening post, I've never tried to treat the blackheads on my nose so this is the first product I'm trying. I won't be applying it anywhere except my nose. I'll tell you how it goes. They have a 30 day return policy anyway.

Meanwhile, if any of you have had success with this product, please let me know. Cheers.

Pore strips have been working for me in removing blackheads, they loosen up the deep blackheads and I can take the whole thing out with tweezers and a bunch of pale yellow gunk comes out behind it. I don't have blackheads when I use this..And I stopped applying sunblock on my face because it caused my blackheads in the first place.

I'm pretty happy currently because for the first time in about 6 months I have a nice smooth nose. Feels great compared to the rough bumpy one I had become accustomed to. It's happened in the last few days and I believe that it is Dans AHA+ that has dealt the blow to them. I had been using SA face eash on it for a good few months with out any real improvement but I added in the AHA last week and they're gone. I'm using the AHA once a day and use an SA face wash once a day.

I have combination skin too. Salicylic acid... wayyyy too drying. I actually think that it makes me break out because it irritates me so much. I use baking soda too to exfoliate occasionally but you're right it does nothing for the deep blackheads. I've heard good things about paula's choice.

I'm doing Acleara. Which you can read about in my signature. Just started actually for my blackheads. It works as a vaccuum/laser. Sounds weird I know. It doesn't work on the bridge of the nose because the device has to be flat to activate but on the sides of my nose, literally after every treatment they have been blackhead free. I'm not done with the treatment yet so they come back but it takes a couple days.

Other than that yeah I would try Paula's Choice or the Mandelic acid!
