Was on the regimen for about two years with clear skin, started breaking out again (when I veered off the regimen) and tried to go down the holistic path. Obviously that did not work and decided to get back on the regimen for my sanity and self-esteem. Only been back on for two weeks so I am dealing with redness and flaking. Also, noticed that when I do use some make-up it totally exacerbates the situation causing more pimples throughout the day, dryness, inflammation and pain-ouch. I'm not sure if it is the make-up to blame or what, but I'm guessing so because when I don't wear make-up my skin at least doesn't feel like this. I have been using 100%Pure Healthy Skin Foundation. Just terrible, but I don't know what to buy instead. i was hoping to find something natural and organic, but it looks as if that doesn't even work for me. So, anyways...I don't wear the make-up daily, but would like to find something that I could use more frequently while things are clearing up. I am 25 years old and had the acne for the past 5 months and it has been the worst 5 months ever. :( Any suggestions or recs?

I feel your pain. Today was difficult. I had not worn makeup in 4 days...(which is a long time for me=) My skin didn't appear or feel that dry and flaky....but then I added makeup to the mix. I need and want to wear makeup. I like the way I feel when I wear makeup. I have more confidence and my overall skin appearance looks-well, better. I use mineral makeup. I know many will say it can make dryness worse or appear worse-but I know it is NOT causing more reactions to my already reactive skin. Most people who don't use mineral makeup don't understand exactly how this makeup differs from a pressed powder. It really does blend well with the warmth and oils of your skin. Which is why most recommend a lighter shade when choosing a foundation color. It does cover beautifully. My past acne and active blemishes are covered and the peace of mind I get knowing I'm not causing any more damage allows me to apply it still everyday. Honestly, if I could wear any makeup I would try them all!! I love makeup and am just happy I found one that looks amazing and causes no problem for my skin. I use Hello Minerals Mineral Makeup for reference. Works very, very, well. No complaints. I like a heavy coverage which is great with mineral makeup-you build your own coverage based on your application. http://hellominerals...foundation.html

I really like Tarte products. They're natural, environmentally friendly and cruelty free! Sephora carries Tarte, but I'm pretty sure you can shop from their website. They're literally the only makeup brand that I've never been disappointed by. I use their "provocateur amazonian clay pressed mineral powder" as a foundation. Buildable coverage, and since it's a powder it doesn't make my skin oily or anything. I use their amazonian clay concealer as well but if your skin is really really flaking that might make it worse since there is kaolin clay in the ingredient list. I've never had problems with their products causing breakouts for me, and I have EXTREMELY senstive skin. They are all really gentle products so they shouldn't cause any inflammation or pain for you! I've been using their foundation for over a year and have no complaints.

Tarte & Korres are really good options to look into. I used the Korres foundation for a long time and it's moisturizing with good coverage. Just make sure you get a good color match :)
