Okay about a month ago the area below and surrounding my upper left cheek (right below my eye) became extremely red and swollen. I went to an Emergicare and they prescribed me prednisone and stated that it was an allergic reaction to something. The prednisone helped some, but I was still kind of red and swollen. I went to a derm and he gave me a Kenalog 40 injection in my hip and desonide lotion. Got a little better, but still kind of red and swollen.

So, here I am a month later and still slightly red and swollen (not very noticeable), but if I'm out in the sun for longer than 10 minutes that area gets really red. I told my derm about this and he stated it is likely rosacea. Is that right? Is this how rosacea starts where one cheek is redder than the other. My cheeks have always been kind of pinkish I guess.

Can a 28 year old male get rosacea? What treatments should I do? lasers? I really don't like this.

I'm taking minocycline now at this point.

I am a 19 y/o male with rosacea so yes age and gender isn't a discriminating factor
Allergic reactions such as that can take months to settle down, it wouldn't surprise me if it is just taking a while to get better, the sun would irritate any kind of rash
Monocycline has been known to worsen rosacea by causing worse flushing

Months to settle down? I've never heard or read that. I just wish I knew what this was. I'm going back tomorrow though in the hope that I can get some answers.
