hey guys so here is my situation, ive been dealing with this for a while and i cant figure it out so i need help!

im an 18 year old male, im in college now. During high school i swam and played water polo for 4 years. I have never had acne in my entire life until my senior year of high school. Nothing really changed, ive used the same detergent and stuff. I have switched body wash a couple times, but besides that ive never had acne. Before senior year i never really used alot of body wash, I would use it on an off but not every day. But i would shower every day.
here are my conditions right now

i take 2 showers a day, one in the morning and 1 after my workout
i use these products every time i shower
I use head and shoulders shampoo
dial antibacterial body wash
neutrogena oil free acne scrub
then after my shower i put on vaseline for men lotion, cooling hydration

Ive been doing this for about 2-3 weeks now and it hasnt really helped at all here are pictures of my back/arms/chest/face

contrary to popular belief, extra washing of acne infected areas will generally not 'cure' the problem. Generally speaking the problems are hormonal or genetic so extra washing will not provide a cure. Age can also be a funny factor when it comes to acne. I'm 21 and have been on roaccutane before and am in fact currently on taking it again so it is not uncommon for it to appear as you get older. some people's acne will persist well into adulthood.

I think it is worth speaking to your GP about the drug accutane or roaccutane (as it is called in Australia). It is a highly potent drug that will give you results. If you decide this is too extreme a doctor can prescribe mild antibiotics for acne. They didn't work for me but everyone is different.

I too have suffered from body acne and i think it would be worth looking into the drug. the sooner you do this the quicker it will go away and the less likely you are too scar.

Good luck!

I have struggled with body acne for a while and the only thing that seems to clear it up (usually 100%) is tanning. I try to go to a tanning bed once a week, or if the weather is nice, just lay outside by the pool. I know I may get harassed for suggesting it, but it really works for me and everyone has their own opinions. Personally, having cystic acne is just as damaging if not more damaging to my skin than a small/moderate amount of sun exposure, so it doesn't bother me at all.

If you don't think tanning is right for you, or don't want to try medications, your personal doctor or dermatologist can prescribe 10% benzoyl peroxide body wash. Its only like $10 without insurance, and is pretty effective.

i am 17 and about a month or so ago was when i started having back acne, possibly because i don't really wash my back. *hides face in shame*
it got to the point where there were little spots everywhere on my back and a few painful lumps..
so what i did was basically starting to pay more attention to my back.. i wash my back once everyday (sometimes i do forget!) with regular soap and as of now, i can say it's clearing up. like no more painful bumps and the little spots are now mostly on my upper left.
gaaah it feels good!! :D

so yeah i don't really believe it's all on genetics..
:/

PS: i'm not on any drugs or using any topicals for my back acne
