I don' know whether it's spotting or just a light period. I've been taking spiro since july 21th. I got my period on August 18th, everything was okay, but this month I got these ireegular bleeding 10 days before my actual period and it's light. I don't wanna stop the treatment, but at the same time I am afraid of this irregularity. What can I do? ( my dosage is only 50 mg). eusa_wall.gif

This is a normal side effect. In a couple of months your hormones will regulate and it should no longer be an issue.

I've been taking spiro for almost 8 months. Spotting/light period is normal. At 150mgs I was getting my period almost constantly. Since this was too much of an inconvience my dosage was lowered.
I can handle spotting at 100mgs. It's worth it. If it really bothers you, have your derm. lower the dosage.

I guess it's a light period eusa_shifty.gif
.I just wanted to know if it's dangerous, 'cuz my mom gets terrified when it comes to period issues or irregularities caused by some pills. wacko.gif

tell your mom to chill out...the only regular thing about women's cycles is that they can sometimes be irregular. Posted Image

I had my period for three months straight when I had Mirena inserted. Complete with cramps
for three months

I have that problem too. Doctor said it's ok as long as it is manageable ie. it's not all the time.

I've been on 25 mgs of spiro for about 4 months and I spot almost all of the time. It's driving me up a wall so I'm considering getting on birth control to regulate my cycle. I've heard adding birth control to spiro helps it's effectiveness.... does anyone know if this is actually true?

I mean, I'm on such a low dose, I can't exactly lower it (I actually want to up it!) I'm soooo frusterated. How is anyone supposed to have a normal sex life when they're bleeding all of the time?

Okay,so it's my period time and I'm having the same problem: light period! I've never had this kind of periods, but since I've been taking Spiro, my periods are very light and they last for 2-3-4 days. My mom says it's not healthy. I also read the dangers of irregular periods. Actually I am fine with having a light period, as long as it's not dangerous for my health. I also don't wanna stop taking Spiro, 'cuz it helps with my cystic acne( reduced inflamation for 60%).
I was wondering would it subside in few months? Or I have to take BCP's in order to regulate or get normal periods. Or is it normal to have light periods while on the pill?
P.S I've been taking Spiro(50mg) since July 21th.
