so as a poor college student i have been browsing the stores for regimine safe bp at a cheap price. Im from the western new york and i discovered a 2.5% bp cheapo alternative at the local Dollar General store; a fav amongst us college students. only 4 bucks a tube. Made by acne free, its even a gel, not a cream, and its called the terminator. works awsome.

Hello!!

I am also from Buffalo and this is AWESOME to hear because I was just stressing over not being able to afford the amount of BP I need. We have plenty of Dollar General's around here. Do you know how much comes in a $4 tube?

There is 0.75 oz in the tube its the same oz as on the spot has in it.Another option is to use the equate repair lotion at walmart its 4$ for 2 oz. It is the knock off brand of proactive an all you would need is step 3 which is 2.5 bp and they sell each step separately.

Walmart's generic version of proactiv's repairing lotion is their brand Equate (not the AcneFree brand). You can buy their BP lotion separately (not in a kit). It's a 2.5% BP too!!!! Not a 5% or 10% like most drugstore products. I have not used it myself, but Equate usually duplicates the "compare to" product's ingredients pretty closely, so I'm betting it's quite similar to proactiv's BP lotion, which is not bad except for its heavy fragrance. The price seems right too.....around $5 if I recall.

Dan's is the best still, ingredient-wise, IMO, but it's still nice to have another 2.5% BP option at a local store in addition to Neutrogena On The Spot.

Honestly, if you are on the regimen, use dans bp. That will be the cheapest. You can buy .75 oz for $4 at a store, or dans 8 oz for $20 (that includes shipping). Do the math. Dans is better, and more affordable over time.

(actually Equate Bp is about $16 for 8 oz) (2oz for $4)!
I'm was Running out of Dan's Benzoyl Peroxide (argh) and I was like i can't afford to buy another bottle right now! lol so i was looking for the cheapest bp at the stores and after a WHILE looking i found the EQUATE PROACTIV compared 2.5% benzoyl peroxide! awesome it was 4.18 for 2 ounces! so i bought two 4 ounces for 8 bucks not bad! & no shipping charges. I just used it right now & my face feels pretty soft. so far so good. we'll just hopefully it works as good as dans bp!

Oh nice. Update this later with how well it works cuz I'm curious now lol if I can get something just as good as dans without shipping that would be sweet. But I would have a hard time switching still lol I love dans bp.

How is it coming thus far, AncientOne? Just as effective? I need a part-time substitute while I'm waiting on my most recent order of Dan's BP.

Just a FYI, I've been using the Equate knockoff of Proactiv's treatment for about two months. It's the 2.5% BP and it works just fine for me. I was happy to find it because it's a good size container for the price (about US $4) and I didn't need to worry about shipping or enrolling in an auto-delivery system. Give it a shot!

will the equate brand make your face white like the On the spot will? i'm also waiting for my recent order of Dans regimen and it wont be here till march 9th. so i need something that i can use in the morning before school that wont turn white if i prespire or at all. Something as similar to dans bp as you can get off the shelf.?

Thanks
