hi, my dermo has advised me to switch to tazorac, im currently using differin gel 0.3 and it has worked in the past.. but those were in the winter months when my skin was not as oily. it is currently summer and i dont feel the differin is helping, is it just the time of the season or is it the differin itself? i also am wondering if i will still get an initial breakout from the tazorac if ive been on differin for a year. should i just stick with the differin and wait for it get cooler outside or try the tazorac?..im also having problems with oil build up in my t-zone ( especially in crease of nose and nose itself) is this from the differin? will the tazorac help the oil issues? please help!!!!

this is my routine:

night-
wash face with 5% benzoyl peroxide wash
then apply differin

morning-
wash face in shower with PanOxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide foaming wash

I get oily skin as well. More so in the summer months.
I found BP cream to help with the oiliness.
Lasts for a little while. Then its back to oil slick.
Really irritates me. I'm always using hand towels or TP
to wipe my face.
Sorry couldn't help you more. Vitamin B5 helps some.
Didn't seem to help me that much.

I have ridiculously oily skin, I've never tried any retinoids, aside from spot treating for about a month which seemed to have no affect. I've been using the men's anti-shine products from Biotherm and they help out, it's mostly the moisturizer. My face still gets oily later during the day but it's the only thing I've come across that makes it bearable. They're fucking expensive though, I've actually been looking for an alternative, pardon my language.

I'm going to add another post later when I'm not so tired, I've tried a few of their products and can give some more detailed input on them.

Moved to the Oily Skin Issues board, since this has nothing to do with the Acne.org Regimen Products.

Please read the board descriptions before posting threads to ensure that you're posting on the appropriate board. ; )

using medicines is not at all bad... but have you considered using natural home remedies? Or at least given your body a well-deserved rest? The kind that lets your body break free from all the stress... you know that sleep deprivation will let your adrenal glands secrete more cortisol thus making your sebaceous glands secrete more oil?

Anyway, your doing great, just stick to the plan...

hope that helps... God bless.

Hello, To get rid of the acne replenish your body with plenty of water, eat fresh fruits, use aloe Vera gel at night, wash your face at least twice a day and do practice yoga or exercise daily. This will surely help you a lot to get the good skin and remove your acne

I suffer bad with oily shin what I do is:

Moaning: wash face with normal soap then dry and add Freederm fast track gel

Lunch: I drink fresh lemon juice which meant to help it tastes nice though

Night: I wash face with normal soap then dry and add Freederm gel again

At the moment my face is still oily anything else I could do?

What i want to suggest you is that do not apply any kind of gel or cream on the face. It makes the skin oily.

Okay this might sound crazy but put a little bit of Phillip's Milk of Magnisia on a cotton ball and rub it over your face before applying making up. It will turn a little white but that will go away when your make up is on :)
