Hi. About a week or so ago, I started taking cod liver oil, evening primrose oil(GLA) and a male-specific multi-vitamin to try and battle my acne that was pretty specific to my chin, jawline, nose and little bit on forehead. The main reason I started this is because I read somewhere on this forum that jawline acne is hormonal trouble and since I am now 23 and starting to smell quite bad (all of a sudden!) I figured my hormones are going pretty mad.

Anyway, so I started taking all these and good news, my chin and jawline acne has pretty much gone! It is looking much clearer now whereas before, big, sore lumps kept appearing and then another 2 or 3 would come up next to it and they would all form a super-lump. Pretty painful, gruesome stuff. So I'm glad they've stopped but now I have developed acne around my hairline, forehead and my cheeks a bit. Bit of a pain to be honest. Manage to sort one thing and something else happens. Brilliant.

I noticed the other day that my Multi-vitamin has iodine in it and I wasn't sure if this was the culprit? I have stopped using that multi-vitamin for a couple of days and gone on to a normal one with just the A,B,C,D,E etc in it instead of all the minerals like iodine and selenium as well.

Has anybody had this problem before or know of anything that could have caused this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Bit gutted because I go on holiday tomorrow and I wanted clear skin for it. Oh well...

It could very well be the multi vitamin you are taking. Until about a month ago, I was taking Centrum Multi for Women, and it took me a while to realize, but it was making me break out WAY more along my jawline and ALL over my neck. I stopped taking it, and those areas have gone back to how they usually are, but I have gone back to getting acne in the areas that were a problem before taking the multi-v. I've read a lot of threads on that and it seems that many people have had the same problem with Centrum specifically, but I wouldn't be surprised if other brands with similar ingredients have the same effect.

Yeah I also read that about the Centrum supplements. I don't know what to do now. The option I do have is to buy each individual vitamin and then by process of elimination, cancel out the ones that are making me break out.

Such a frustrating world we live in .

I am also having suspicions now that the evening primrose (GLA) was breaking me out. Has anybody ever had bad breakouts from GLA?
