Hey everyone! I'm a new member of this message board, but I have been reading other people's posts for quite a while, and also have looked at many reviews. I've recently visited the dermatologist for the first time, due to my moderate/severe acne. The dermatologist prescribed me to 100mg of doxycycline twice a day, but the bottle says I should only take it once a day. It doesn't say "or as directed by a physician" or anything on it, simply just "take one capsule by mouth once daily". I am confused as to follow the dermatologist's instructions or the bottle? I'm just trying to be safe here. I was also prescribed to differin cream and benzaclin gel if that helps. Thank you! Oh and if anyone has advice about doxcycline or what to expect, anything would be appreciated

Go by what your dermatologist tells you to do. Depending on the severity of your acne, you can be prescribed different doses of doxycycline, but definitely do what you've been instructed to do and let your derm know if you have any issues. They are trained to treat you.

Alright! I broke out with a cyst yesterday so I agree that I should follow what my derm instructs me to do
Thanks for reassuring me!
