Hi,

So my acne is what you call moderate, but severe in battle marks (lots and lots and lots of red marks / hyperpigmentation / some scarring over face).

I was prescribed retin A micro and aczone. Been using the retin A for a month now. It is helping, but definitely not preventing new breakouts. Aczone seems to just help with inflammation.

I was prescribed Monodox, but after doing research, I am inclined from taking the antibiotic. I've read too many stories on the horrible breakouts upon stopping antibiotics. So I decided only to use my months supply currently, and stop.

I was thinking of taking once daily for 2 weeks, then once every other day for a week, and then once every 3 days for the last week, and stop completely.

I know no one can give me a definite answer, but will this be enough to cause that "post antibiotic breakout?" I'm not sure how fast these meds kill off bacteria. Any info would be helpful, Thank you.
