For those who gained weight on BC and were previously underweight:
1. How much weight did you gain?
2. Did you gain enough to make you 'normal' or did it make you overweight?
3. Did the weight gain eventually plateau?
4. Did the BC also help with other symptoms such as PMDD and acne?
5. Do you think you had a hormonal imbalance that may have resulted in your being underweight?
Thanks!

1) On Dianette I gained one stone, although I can't be 100% that it was the BC that caused this because it coincided with my student years so I was drinking too much and not eating as healthily as I should of been.
2)It made me "normal" and the most confident I've ever been about my body! I looked more womanly.
3)I had to come off Dianette because doctor said it wasn't safe to stay on it any longer, and since then I've lost all the weight I gained.
4)It cleared up my acne completely...not sure about PMDD, I remember feeling quite moody.
5) Maybe. I've never had any tests done though. I just startied Yasmin last week so I'm seeing how this goes first.

1, 2, & 3. I did not gain weight. (OTC & OTC LO)
4. My face cleared after 6 months on OTC. I still can't be 100% sure that it was what caused it or caused all of it.
5. I've always been tinkering between underweight & average.

Thanks for answering. Did losing all the weight make you feel less womanly?
How is Yasmin going?

How is Yasmin going?
A bit, I'm quite tall so I can look a bit lanky in certain clothes. I'm not as self concious as I used to be though.
Yasmin is going alright so far, but still too early to see a difference. Fingers crossed!
Good luck with your treatment!

Just to save you some time, you don't "gain weight" magically while eating any substance. Weight gain is just a matter of eating a _caloric surplus_.
to lose weight you eat a deficit, you don't need to do cardio if you don't want(although it's good for cardiovascular health) and you CAN loose weight by eating crap foods for example pizza/hamburgers.
just to clarify.

So glad you said this. There is nothing in birth control that will make you gain weight by itself. If you eat right and burn as many calories as you put in, you won't gain weight.
