Hello, i am starting work in a kitchen next week. I will be deep frying french fries and stuff like that... And in the same area i will be in steak, chicken, shrimp, and garlic toast will be being cooked. I was wondering if being in that area and cooking fries would break me out? Thanks

Yea it will because of all the frying materials. Just be sure to clean after and you should be fine.

Honestly, unless you're rubbing the grease onto your face and getting a lot of splash back from the things you're preparing OR your face is super sensitive to environmental changes, you should be okay. I worked in a kitchen and didn't notice any difference in my skin. Just remember not to wipe your face on your sleeves/apron. smile.gif

EDIT: Also, I wanted to mention that a lot of people break out working in kitchens because it's fast paced and can be quite stressful. I've never been in a kitchen that wasn't flat-out.

exactly the same here.

i used to work in kitchen aswell.
from time to time i just damped a paper towel with a little bit of water and patted my face with it so it soaks up sebum. and any possible grease from whatever you've been frying, cooking, deep-frying, steaming etc. but basically yeah, running like f-ing mad around the kitchen being angry at lazy waiters and slow-cooking food, multitasking can make you a bit stressful, and make you sweat especially if the owner is an angry bipolar headchef and you are the secondchef.. biggrin.gif
