I've been on OTC-Lo for 2 months~ (currently on my second pack, third week) and I haven't seen much improvement on my skin, unfortunately. So I was wondering how long did it take for your face to clear up after starting OTC-Lo? Any specific diets/foods I should avoid? I heard dairy products do your skin no good sad.gif

hi - I actually JUST began my 3rd pack and I believe I am beginning to see improvement.

but about 2 weeks ago (so prob around where u are at) my skin was in very bad shape, and I was concerned that it was NOT improving and that maybe it was a bad idea to be on the pilll afterall (I am only on it for acne).

But I have heard on every site, and from my own doctor to give at least 3 months for your body to adjust to any birth control pill. So that is exactly what I'm doing - waiting it out.

I have also read dairy is bad for skin from a lot of sources, so that may also be true. Some people think it is the hormones from the pregnant cows... I dunno, but I find it super hard to cut it out sad.gif esp bc i am a coffee drinker and a cheese lover.

anyway - try the OTC lo for 3 months and if u are really not seeing any improvement, try a new BC - I tried Lo estrin for 3 months - but it did nothing for me and messed with my mood.

on a side note, I have been switching products as well and now use the cerave line, which I'm in love with. & may sound crazy - but apple cider vinegar/water as a toner. (read up on it - kind of interesting)

unfortunately, now I don't know what exactly is helping my skin, but it could just be the combination of products.

anyway - good luck, hope you see improvement with your skin soon!

hi i am taking the same birth control for about 5months to prevent pregnancy . my skin cleared up in 3 months but now im experiencing terrible depression and mood changes. im going to stop my pill . but there is a horrible side effect that ive read about on many sites including this one . and that is your acne will go from 0 to 50(worse) in 3months and can stay severe for up to a year 6months least thats including acne cysts on face and body . i am terrified to stop birth control but the depression is not worth it. i hope i dont experience this but most likely iwill. i hope you dont experience the moods like i did. this is my first time ever using birth control and ortho triciclen lo.
