I went to my derm today to get a cyst injected with cortisone. I have also been on septra for some time now and it doesn't seem to be having a great affect on my cysts. I usually don't get them as frequently but as of late i have! eusa_wall.gif but anyhow - my derm prescribed me Spironolactone (Never heard of it! And was surprised there were no reviews of it on Acne.org!) ... Its best when used with women who have hormonal acne like myself (sorry guys).... but basically, my derm said it works great with women on birth control because it blocks testosterone (which is a major cause to hormonal acne).... This prescription is often used for blood pressure so you can become slightly dizzy until your body builds up a tolerance, but apparently many women are enjoying this prescription in conjunction with their birth control...! I am on a 50mg dose; once in the morning, and two pills in the evening...

Hope it helps and best of luck ladies! (maybe it will work for men too??)

I'll move this to hormonal acne treatments forum. Search for 'spiro' or 'spironolactone' and you'll find many experiences of people on this medication.
