So I have my senior pictures tomorrow. I have been using BP for about a month on my acne and following The Regimen. I woke up this morning and my face is completely red and sore. This morning all I did was wash my face with a little bit of warm water and apply a good amount of Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. It made my face even more irritated. I need advice on what to do about my senior pictures tomorrow. Do I continue to follow The Regimen? My face has never been this red and sore in my life. And how do I cover this up? Thanks!

i have heard from someone on this forum that i guess that is very common in the beginning of the "regimin"
i suggest getting a very cool wash cloth and just keep it on your face and let it soothe it.
also u may want to try aloe vera for irritation
and i would continue using it just maybbee you started out with too much bp?

oh sorry u should also try a cucumber mask all u do is shred some cucumbers and let the cucumber grinds sit on your skin its VERY soothing

if you r going to wear makep i suggest u get a green concealer stick and put some all over your face then put on foundation since green cancelles out redness

They photoshop your pictures regardless, don't they? If so, try talking to the photographer to see if they can note the editors about making your skin tone more natural rather than red.

Keep pressing on. Dryness is completely normal. I'm over 6 months in the regimen and I still get dry/flakey. At the beginning I was also very irritated; red and sore, as you described. Don't completely stop the regimen, but rather reduce the number of applications if you're getting really sensitive. For example, instead of applying BP twice a day, apply it only once, but your usual amount. Preferably after your shower so you'll only wash your face once a day. This way the BP will remain on your face until your next shower and will continue to treat you. And very gradually ramp up the dosage if you're not at the full 3 pumps now.
Don't wear makeup. If you do, you're just adding another factor that can possibly further irritate your skin and cause more acne, or just irritate your face. The less products you use at the beginning, the better. Later on, when you're more used to the BP, you can factor in one product at a time to see if it causes you to break out or not. But for now, stick to Dan's basics. Best of luck
