Hi folks,

I read a post by someone claiming that Seban has reduced their oil dramatically so I'm going to give it a try. To this day I have had NO success with any oil-control or shine-control products. The only time I've been relieved of my EXTREMELY OILY SKIN is when I was using Accutane which I absolutely loved. I have been off Accutane for a while now and am ACNE FREE biggrin.gif Accutane stopped my oil production completely and I was very much hoping that it would continue even after I finished taking the drug but that didn't happen. So now I am very very oily once again and desperate for something that will actually work. For now I am using Proactiv's Mattifying Gel which works for an hour or two but that only covers up the problem it doesn't solve it.

Anyways, I'm going to give this Seben stuff a try. I just ordered it online so it should be here in a couple weeks. I'll check back with you guys once it's arrived and some weeks afterwards to tell you how it's working. I will be honest I don't have much faith that it will as I have tired product after product claiming to stop oil! We'll see....

Alright,

I received my 3 fl. oz bottle of SEBAN OIL INHIBITOR LIQUID this morning.
I paid $15.00 for this bottle from the COOPERLABS website plus $10.44 shipping and handling.
Because it arrived in the morning just before I left to work I wasn't able to try it out. I did however put some along the inside of my ears which usually gets very oily. I really can't say for sure if it was the Seban working or not but my ears did seem to stay pretty dry for most of the day...
I'm not going to get too excited about it just yet. I will try it this evening before I head to bed and see how my skin is in the morning. I am a little worried about the alcohol listed in the ingredients as that's known to irritate and dry out skin. The bottle says the active ingredient is Perfluoroalkyl Surfactant "an active ingredient in halting the production of facial oil build-up."

Let's hope this works!!!

Good morning!

So I woke up this morning and completely forgot that I had put the Seban on last night. I remembered when I went into the washroom and saw my face in the mirror. Usually my face looks very oily and shiny in the morning but this morning it actually looked pretty matte! However, I did glide my fingers under my eyes and onto my nose and it felt very oily. So for some reason the oil is there but isn't very shiny? Strange... I think it's still too early to know for sure if this stuff is working or not. I'll put it through the ultimate test and wear it during my work day. This is when my skin is at it's worst. I work in a very hot room with fluorescent lights. By mid day I am shiny as ever, even while using Proactiv's Mattifying Gel which usually works VERY well for me. I'm going to try using the Seban liquid first then I'll apply the Proactiv Mattifying Gel.
As of now, I am still feeling optimistic.

I'll report back after work this evening.

I am so happy you have made a log about this! I too suffer from SUPER oily skin. I get out of the shower, and an hour later, the oil is there! and it's very thick sad.gif probably why I get so many clogged pores sad.gif
anyways, I hope it works! I'll keep reading and maybe try it myself!
GOOD LUCK! smile.gif

Hey!
I'm glad someone's actually following it.

Update:

Today was day 2 of using the liquid.
My face did seem a little less oily during my work day yesterday but I still can't tell if it's the product working or just a result of a not-so-busy day? I put the liquid on again this morning before work but my skin was very oily and shiny today... I have noticed that my skin looks a little matte after applying the liquid but I am still following that with Aveeno spf lotion and Proactiv's Mattifying Gel.
So far my skin hasn't been irritated at all from the alcohol listed in the ingredients. No redness or dryness. I think it's still too early to know if this stuff's working or not but as of now I will say it's not worth the purchase. I'll post again in a couple days.

Cheers!

Update:

I wasn't planning on doing another update so soon but after spending a couple hours downtown in the sun I returned home expecting to see my face red from the cool wind (my city is on the ocean) and shiny from the heat of the sun. Instead my skin is matte! Even the mattifying gel I use doesn't work well enough to keep my skin matte until this time if I am outside most of the day. Again, my skin feels oily but it isn't very noticeable... weird... So the oil is there but it's not shiny. I have never experienced that before. I am not really sure how that is possible but I am not complaining!
Again, hold off from buying this product just yet if you're thinking about it. It could just be a good day for my skin which does happen from time to time. I am slightly more convinced about this product though. wink.gif

Happy day!

Alright so it's been about a week since I started using Seban...
It does seem to be making a difference, nothing like I was expecting but it's still pretty good I think... It does go on matte, the matte effect does last for a while except for on my nose... So far I am happy I bought this product. Give me another week or two before you purchase this product and I'll tell you how it's working for me then. It's actually kind of hard to know for sure if it's working.... Like I said before, the oil is still there but not as noticeable... Although my skin doesn't feel oily at all right now and I just woke up... I'm not sure. I need more time.

It's been about two weeks since I started using Seban... I have noticed a slight improvement in my skin but I don't think it's worth the $25... I will continue to use this product until it runs out. I don't think I'll purchase it again...

I'll do another update sometime, just in case. smile.gif

It has now been 13 days since my last post about Seban... For the first time since I used Accutane, my face is developing blackheads and just looks irritated.
I still have scars from my awful acne experience but those have since faded. I've noticed my scars turning red again!!! :S
I am convinced this is due to the Seban liquid and have decided to stop using it.

Not worth the purchase. I DO NOT recommend this product.
