. It really sucks because I have to be on these four months before my derm will give me accutane. Can antibiotics make acne worse sometimes? Or is it maybe a coincidence that I had a period of relatively clear skin and then a breakout?

I've been on Trimethoprim 600mg for the past two weeks as well as using epiduo. Everything was seemingly going great but about two days ago I had a MASSIVE breakout and it's still ongoing . It really sucks because I have to be on these four months before my derm will give me accutane. Can antibiotics make acne worse sometimes? Or is it maybe a coincidence that I had a period of relatively clear skin and then a breakout?

Usually antibiotics do not have a huge IB stage, but they may. Also, the Epiduo could be contributing because, as far as I know, it's part retinoid and part BP, so your skin could be adjusting to the topical.
Remember, it takes around 12 weeks for most retinoids to effectively work. Just stay patient and see it through.
