I don't even know what I have, but I've been getting hard tiny bumps on my face and when I pop them, hard crap comes out, it's not like a pimple with white pus, it's like......hard stuff, which I suspect is really clogged pores.
I have tried scrubbing them off and using cleansers but nothing will actually clear this hard gunk out of my face unless I pop it out.
Any suggestions?
How do I unclog my pores?

I have the same thing too. I just got back from an appt at a skin treatment place that does laser resurfacing. They recommended a treatment called Kerastick, plus Retin-A cream (probably for life), and Fraxel for my scars. I don't think we can "unclog" these pores without something like Retin-A.

What is Retin-A? I can't really afford a special treatment.

I have a similiar problem. I get these teeny tiny white specs under my lip and in the corners of my mouth down that resemble milia but are not. I can extract a hard seed like substance from most of them and they form literally overnight. I dont know if they mean Im oily, dry, dehydrated or what. They are not sebaceous filaments as I can always extract something from them. They are very difficult to extract because they are embedded in there. I try to soften them up with retin a, mandelic or BHA's but they never come out on their own. Its definetly a clogged pore issue and I have not been able to solve or prevent them in two years. I am curious as to this Kerastick procedure. Ive never heard of it. Ive going thur Dermasweep treatments. I go for my third on Wednesday, so Im hoping it gets alot of these out.

Retin-A is an RX cream. If you're on a budget and nothing else has worked, I would read up on it here on the boards. The generic name is Tretinoin. You can probably find a place online to buy it without an RX. Even the women at the spa I went to said they use it daily as an anti-aging and preventative even though they don't have acne problems. It increases cell turnover and may help unclog your pores.

That sounds to me like what my derm/allergist described as Keratosis Pilaris, which isn't actually acne but can be confused for it when it affects the face. I don't know much about it, but it would be worth googling!

Tretinoin helps
these are most likely sebaceous filaments which pretty much everyone has. They are nearly impossible to eliminate unless you alter the amount of sebum your skin produces with something like Accutane

how can you tell the difference between sebaceous filaments and clogged pores? In the corner of my mouth down toward my chin, I get microscopic white dots. Some of them I can take the corner of my tweezer and lift up from the bottom and a little white string will shoot out. I then know I got the plug. Some resemble a blackhead but are white in color and are not covered by skin like some of the others I get. These are very very hard to remove. Although they look close to the surface, if you try and extract them, they just go deeper in. I have one in the corner of my mouth for weeks and I have been putting mandelic on it daily as well as a blackhead loosener by Garden of Wisdom and it was slowly rising to where a piece of white was sticking out of the pore. Tonight I steamed the area and gentle pushed with my blackhead extractor and it sunk deeper..I didnt break the skin, but how in the hell am I suppose to get these to come out?
I think the ones I get in the crease of my chin that look like goosebumps you get on your arm when your cold are sebaceous filaments and the others I get are clogged pores. Does anyone have any advise on what will alter these besides accutane? I have rosacea so its not an option as my face will get redder.
I also wanted to mention that I have been doing smoothbeam treatments (3 so far) and dermasweep treatments. I just got back from my dermasweep treatment and the aesthethican said "Oh looks like a lot came out, especially the one in the corner". What the hell is she seeing because when I got home, they were all still there!!!! Im beyond frustrated and dont think it has done anything to help. Every clog I had before I went in was still sitting right there. I can get more out myself like I normally do every night.
Any supplments out there that would aid the way my skin deals with the sebum getting blocked by the hair follicle?
