So I developed really terrible neck acne right under my jawline in what seemed like out of the blue. It was/is pretty terrible, but for some reason only on my right side. I'm talking 10 pustules while my left was TOTALLY and ABSOLUTELY CLEAR. Just recently it has started to form on my left side. It all started with a tiny pimple a little bit below my ear lobe right below my jawline. It went away within a couple days, but I thought moisturizing that area would help heal it up better. WRONG. 3 more have developed in that region. So what is the cause of MY neck acne?? I think it is applying any type of products on it. I NEVER used to apply moisturizer onto the left side, but always on the right side.

This type of acne really seemed like it has only worsened as I have treated it delicately and only moisturized. I'm going to lay off any products on either side of my neck and see what results. I mean it had stayed clear for so long by me doing absolutely nothing. I'm a 17 year old male btw.

Hope this can help someone in some way.

Hi GoingStrong, I think we have the same problem though mine is just a few pimples scattered below my left jaw. Right now I'm trying to treat the breakout with a wash that contains salicylic acid, as prescribed by my dermatologist. eusa_angel.gif

I wonder if its related to shaving... I have read that using a salicylic acid wash is good for this..... vosene (anti dandruff shampoo) contains salicylic acid so maybe thats worth a try....
