I need some serious help with my greasy skin. Like, I honestly think I have like some kind of medical condition or something because it is SO greasy. Like about an hour after I wash my face, it looks like I have a layer of vaseline on my face. I have tried strong cleansers, not strong ones, heavy moisturizers, light ones and none at all. My current regimin keeps my acne away, though, so I don't want to change anything too much. I seriously have to apply powder like once every hour. It's so annoying. Help!

Nothing will "get rid" of oily skin. It's impossible to get rid of oily skin, unless you do something like Accutane, which you should not do if you don't have bad/resistant acne. You have oily skin because of genetics, you can't change genetics. You can control it, by using skin cleansers designed for oily skin, and moisturizing. That's about it.
I have oily skin as well. It's not very bad, but it's enough that it shines. I use Cetaphil
Oily Skin Cleanser and Cetaphil Daily Ultra Hydrating Lotion. The Cleanser is awesome. The Hydration Lotion is also awesome; I remember my first couple of days I would put way too much on, and it literally made my face greasy; it looked like I hadn't washed my face in a year. I realized I was using too much, it didn't feel like it, but I was. You should be using a very little tiny dab all over your face. Remember; less is more.

I'm with you sister. I literally have THE most oily skin ever, and it's gotten worse over the years! The only thing I can do is use those Clean & Clear Oil Blotting Sheets (about $5 at any drugstore, etc), and I use about 4 daily. It's gross..other than that I just wash my face morning and night, and keep it hydrated because if you don't yoru body will produce even more oil, which I'm sure you know!

There's no connection or correlation between the amount of moisture (water) in skin, and the amount of oil (sebum) it produces.

If that's the case then should oily peeps ditch the moisturizer? I have oily skin & never used moisturizer before. I was gunna give it a try after coming to this website though so I can follow the regimen

The purpose of a moisturizer is to moisturize. I think you should use a moisturizer only if you feel you need help in keeping your skin moist. It has nothing to do with how much oil it makes.
