Ok guys, about a month ago I made the switch from neutrogena on the spot to Dan's BP. After about a month, I've had several pimples (way more then I would have with the neutrogena). I know my skin did something similar when I started with the neutrogena years ago, but was not expecting this since my skin was relatively clear for so long. Also, my skin just feels so sore and is flakier then it ever was before, even though I thought it should be used to the BP. I made the switch because the neutrogena ran out quickly and was very expensive, but it did take my skin from moderate acne to maybe one zit at a time. Now I'm wondering what I can do for the redness/flakiness or if I should just go back to neutrogena on-the-spot.

Other products:
Purpose gentle cleansing wash
olay sensitive skin lotion

Dan's BP is higher quality and more powerful than the On-The-Spot treatment. For example, I went from using 10% BP to using almost the full amount of Dan's BP (2.5%) very quickly and my skin freaked out because the ingredients were so much more powerful. I purged like crazy. The concentration isn't as important as the quality of the ingredients.

You're most likely just going through a purge, it took my skin 3-4 weeks to start purging, and that lasted a few weeks, but after this your skin should look fine - as long as you get the flakiness under control.

Add jojoba oil to your moisturizer with every application (I suggest 3-5 drops depending on how bad the flakiness is). At night if you are still struggling try gently applying jojoba oil all over your face and leaving it on for 10-20 minutes (or more), before cleansing - it will help your pores clean out and will help a little with the flakiness.

I also recommend AHA+, it helps fight pimples and completely rids you of flakiness once your face gets accustomed ot it.

If youre really having trouble with flakiness, I suggest putting vaseline on your face and leaving it on overnight (with a soft towel on your pillow so it doesnt get on the pillowcase)it really saved me from insanely dry skin. I only had to do this once and it got rid of the flakiness smile.gif
