so i got a laser genesis treatment for the first time ever a couple days ago, i can say my skin looks a little better, but you can't really see much difference. what it does it stimulate collagen growth, and its supposed to go on weeks after your last treatment. so i'm wondering if actual results will show weeks later. has anyone else here had genesis done?

I'm considering it. Just saw a doc today who suggested that for my skin color and condition. I have ice pick and other types of scars and slight redness on my cheeks. I'm also a Fitzpatrick type IV or V and he thought it would be ideal. He recommended approx 8 treatments to see the results at 2 week intervals. This is the only bit i'm a bit confused about b/c for natural collagen growth shouldn't you wait a little while longer to see results before jumping in to the next session?

Tell me more about your skin type and frequency/schedule of treatment.

Are you satisfied overall? Any side effects?

I've only had one treatment so far, and i like the result. my skin looks clearer overall, i can even go without make up if i don't have any active spots, the scars are getting lighter, generally i saw improvement in a few days. i haven't scheduled more appointments yet so im not sure how they're gonna be spaced out, but it varies a lot for different people. for some it's once a week, for some its once a month. im a type 2 i think, very light skinned. i didn't have any side effects, except that 1 week after the treatment my skin started flaring up and was red for a few days. i consulted my doc and he said he highly doubted it was the laser, he thought it was something else. generally you shouldn't have any side effects other that some redness right after the procedure, for me all the redness subsided by the time i left the spa, so it only lasted maybe 3 mins.
