Yeah unfortunately sad.gif I think I'll try and stick with it even if it doesn't make a difference to my skin as it'll help my long term health. I started today, had a yummy bowl of fruit and nuts for my breakfast with a fruit smoothie and I'm going to try and eat more oily fish like mackerel and tuna as that's really good for you. I fear I'm going to miss my pasta a lot though.. I might include stuff in as treats after I've been doing the diet properly for a while.

I have the foundation too, it is really good smile.gif The toner in particular made my eyes water it was that strong! I think it just depends on your skin sensitivity though, because I have a friend who swears by it.

I love rooibos tea! I use green tea as a toner but I drink rooibos quite a lot with a nice slice of lemon. Hopefully this health kick will work! I'll check out your profile diary too, thanks for being helpful smile.gif

My pleasure!

That sounds like a delicious breakfast! I usually eat porridge for breakfast with water, apples and sultanas. I feel like I need the oats to keep me going - paleo sure doesn't allow for any other carbs! My skin has gotten a lot better since I started eating a tin of mackerel every day. Avocados are also really good for the skin but they are mega expensive here sad.gif

Well I am wanting to get my skin non-sensitive. I want to wean myself off the harsh products and use only natural things. My boyfriend doesn't even wash his face and has flawless skin so I think I've been doing something wrong...?

Yeah! I drink like, 8 cups of rooibos tea a day. The lemon sounds like a really delicious addition, especially because I heard it speeds up your metabolism.

I used to use a normal green tea for toner but read this article and changed things up. Rooibos success article link

It's a really good idea to keep a photo diary, the one I keep on my computer is of my skin every single day. It helps to see it slowly getting better AND I have something to help out the dermatologist when I see her.

Yeah the porridge with sultanas and apples sounds yummy. Hopefully if I'm eating better too the weight gain on bcp thing won't be an issue either. I've heard avocados are good, but I just cant stand the texture of them! yuk. I might try making a smoothie with them though and add other things in so I can't taste it.

I really think harsh things and unnatural chemicals are bad in the long run..using topical solutions for so long made my skin weaker and dependant, of course at the time I didn't know a lot about skincare and wasn't really bothered as long as I was clear. Now I just wash my face with water in the morning before I put makeup on, and then I'll take it off with a wipe in the evening and wash with a lush soap in the bath, and then I use green tea as a toner. I used to use a LOT more things on my skin and have really cut down.

It's so unfair when things happen like that..I know so many people who eat rubbish and junk all the time, never drink water, wear loads of makeup all the time and try loads of different things on their skin and never get spots. I used to be in a bit of a denial phase about this and think..well diet clearly has no effect for them..I'm gonna eat whatever I want too! I think we just need to realise as people who are acne-prone we can't afford to do that all the time. It sucks, but at least we'll be in better health in general for the long term.

Thanks for the link too, it's really interesting. I must say I've lurked on these forums for a while and never really wanted to join but I'm glad I did, everyone's been really nice and helpful.
