Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone can help me...I always thought I had oily skin but after visiting a beauty salon when I noticed I had horrible flaky patches on my skin, I was told I actually suffer from dry skin and my face is producing excess oil to try and compensate for this, hence the blackheads and oily sheen that sometimes appears.
My problem is how to treat blackheads and dry skin! I literally have blackheads all over my face but can't use acne treatment as it makes my skin too dry but any dry skin products only seem to worsen the blackheads. I have tried both antibiotics and dianette to see if that helped from the inside out and just focused on treating my dry skin but to no avail...any suggestions?
Someone recommended I exfoliate every day to help the blackheads but does anyone know of a very gentle exfoliator that won't just dry my skin out even more?
Thanks!

I'm no dermatologist but from what I've read (to me at least) you may find some benefit from using a wet sauna (steam room).
The hot steam will help push the blackheads out, and also open your pores, possibly prepping for an oil free moisturizer?
I would of course double check this with a dermatologist, but it may provide some relief.
Currently I'm suffering from dry skin and searching for a solution, although mine was caused from a side effect of Benzoyl Peroxide (99% sure of this). Let me know if the steam room helps you
I thought it was worth mentioning at least, and good luck to you
