i was on ganvi birthcontrol for months and the only time i would "really" breakout would be around my chin and jawline around my period, but ever since the pharmacy randomly switched my birthcontrol to loryna which has the same active ingerdients as gianvi (i have been on it for over a month) got my period ten days early and then had a second period on the placebo pills and have been breaking out terribly around my mouth ever since i got my period ten days early. i take my pill at night and ever morning i wake up with new acne around my mouth, my skin is never usually this bad. i called my pharmacy and since i got two periods last month there putting me back on gianvi.

has anyone ever had this bad of a reaction to a birthcontrol??

did you stop breaking out when you went back to your old one or started a diffrent one?/

this is seriously messin me up cause iv never had this bad of a reaction before and iv been on birthcontrol for years

any input pleaseeee and thank you smile.gif

(oh yeah this also gave me three periods in one month, soooooo you could imagine what that did to my face.awesome. :/ )

YES!!
I was on Yaz for about 3 years with minimal breakouts....then when Gianvi came out, I went on that. I had a few more breakouts, but nothing major that I coudln't handle.

Then this crap came out and about 3 months ago I went on it. My skin is as bad as it was when I was 14 (BAD). My forehead, cheeks, chin, around my nose, even on my neck is broken out. My periods have been crazy too. Last month, I barely had one at all.
I just called my insurance provider and for $10 more a month, I can go back to good old Yaz. I'm doing that and I have my first dermatologist appointment in 15 years next month. That was the earliest I could get in.

Did you notice other side effects too? I'd say I'm a bit more anxious and I'm not sleeping as well as normal, but that might be because my face looks horrible and it hurts.

yeah i wasnt sleeping as well and was also pretty anxious and moody, this could have been because i was literally breaking out almost everyyyyy day while on that pill {horrible} but after i went back to gianivi my face and everything else returned to normal within a couple of weeks....its crazy how certain meds can affect ur body
