I just moved to a hotter & sunnier climate & let us face it .. MOST SUNSCREENS SCARE US. I know the idea of wearing sunscreen on a daily basis scares me .. eusa_pray.gif Sooo I found out about a supplement called astaxanthin.

Its supposed to be good for everything - weight loss, skin, hair, nails, etc.
I'm wondering if I should begin taking it or not ..

Well, I was researching astaxanathin myself and from the looks of it, I would say to not take it. While it looks like astaxanathin itself won't hurt or kill you, there's not much evidence that it works as a "natural sunscreen", or for weight loss or any other claim for that matter.

I looked around in Pubmed for awhile and there are only a few human studies on astaxanathin's suncreen properties. I don't think that shelling out $12-$19 for 60-120 tablets is a worthwhile investment, even if you go to cheaper stores like Wal-Mart.

Hopefully this helps!
