I've been taking supplements consistently every day since December last year and have reduced my acne from on average 3 new spots a day to 3 a week, I'm really please with the results and I hope they continue but because I'm still getting acne my skin isn't healing as well as I'd like. I have and am still getting a lot of blocked pores which is leading to the new acne. I have a great diet and skin care routine (including a clarisonc) so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of other supplements I should start taking, or if there are any in particular you have had successes with and suggest I include to give my skin the final boost it needs to be acne free. For anyone interested in using vitamins to stop their acne it took three months before I started to notice any improvement, but I'd highly recommend trying this method before taking harsh medication.
Niacin, Vitamin B3 100mg,
Vitamin C 500mg,
Vitamin A 8,000 i.u.
Vitamin E 100 i.u.
Omega 3 fish oil 1,000mg,
Evening primrose oil 1,000mg (with Vitamin E 68 i.u.),
Zinc 15mg,
L-lysine 1,000mg,
Vitamin D3 1,000 i.u.
Lycopene 10mg
Alpha Lipoic Acid 100mg (I have been taking Alpha Lipoic Acid for a month and am unsure if there are long term side effects when taking them long term so I am going to discontinue using them when I run out next month unless I learn its safe to continue taking them)
Almost acne free, what vitamins/supplements am I missing?

Selenium.
Also, make sure your liver is functioning correctly-it helps get rid of excess estrogen, cleanses your body from within, etc. Because of the amounts of junk we eat or put on our skin, our liver has to work hard to get rid of it all...sometimes it becomes overworked...
If you really want to help clear your skin from the inside out maybe try doing a liver detox.
If you're really serious about keeping away acne for longer periods of time try doing a raw food cleanse/smoothies for a day (or if you're brave!) a week.
Also, I recently ran out of it but I love this product from NaturDerm, called "Epidermx II". It is a microdermabrasion treatment you can do at home and the granules are the finest, roundest (not sharp or scratchy-will not leave your face feeling raw) and best i've ever felt on my skin. It is the best exfoliation I have ever had (and I've tried A LOT of stuff). It helps to remove built up skin, oils, etc. It can also help with scars (gradually-will not happen over night!).
And best of all, "Epidermx II" is ORGANIC-yay no more bad stuff for your skin! Your face will thank you, I promise.
