Ok, I recently realised how much of a problem my skin picking still is. I tried giving up aaaaaaages ago, but it was difficult and I figured it's fine to do as long as things are ready to be squeezed and don't need much force. Despite thinking this, from time to time I still went crazy. Ok, a lot of the time. But more recently I've found myself sat infront of the mirror TRYING TO FIND something to pick and squeeze at.
Sometimes I hit a jackpot and I squeeze something well, and it disappears with barely a mark, but then I get cocky and go on a bit of spree and make a mess. My biggest problem at the moment isn't inflamed acne, it's just hundreds of comedones, blackheads, and microcomedones. These things are soo satifying to squeeze, if all goes to plan and you get the core out straight away. But obviously that doesn't always happen, and then they become inflamed and turn into a lovely pustule which looks 10x worse than the original comedone. But, I seem to have got it into my head that the comedones won't go away unless I squeeze them. But, what actually happens to them? I know sometimes they turn into pimples, which is why I normally squeeze them because I try and stop them in their tracks. But what happens if I leave them? Will just go down? Dry up? How long do they take to go?
Help!
Do comedones disappear if you don't pick them?

If you're talking about closed comedones, those should only be extracted at a dermatologist's office. I've had a couple of those, and those can be deep so they're a bad idea to pick at yourself.
I know what you mean about hitting the jackpot sometimes where you squeeze a blackhead that's been there for months, and it goes away no problem, leaving no mark. It's these times when it turns out well that makes us do it the other times when it doesn't turn out so well! It's just hard to know when it's okay. I know it goes well when it comes out easily, but sometimes if it doesn't, you're like, 'maybe if I just squeeze it a little harder', and then that's when it goes wrong or you're like 'well I've already started, might as well finish it'. I guess that's why it's safest to not pick at all because there's just no way of knowing when it's going to turn into a bad pick where it leaves a horrible mark.

When I tried to stop picking (a few weeks ago), all my clogged pores got inflamed, and it was horrible.
Also, before that, my left cheek always used to be affected more than the right cheek, and I think that's because my vision on the left eye is worse than on my right.
