Blackheads, large pores and oily skin have plagued my nose for years now and I'am finally sick of it, I've tried everything from washes to squeezing them with an extractor twice a week, nothing works. I have an appointment with my GP on wednesday and I'm going to ask if he can prescribe salicylic acid. I was wondering if anyone has any past experiences? I use 4% benzoyl peroxide cream for my spots which has cleared them up but not my blackheads, so I'm hoping salicylic acid can do it.

I would recommend checking out Pauls's Choice products. They're great. Her salicylic acid products work really well, for me anyways.
I've never used a prescription version of salicylic acid, so I have no idea about that.

hi,
i don't know if you found anything yet, but i use the Clarisonic Mia (the earlier version. does the same thing as the new one and is cheaper) and it totally helped me with my skin. i had annoying blackheads on the nose and it just took the dark tops off. and after that the products (like salicylic acid) get much better into the pores. if there is a miracle product, the clarisonic is it. hope that helps
