Ok I need help from long-term Zinc users and those who have had success with Zinc. I've been using it for 6 weeks now and although it's definitely reduced redness and about 30% of my blemishes, it just isn't clearing up overall. I kinda feel like I am being impatient if I have to be honest, but then again surely there should be a greater clear-up in 6 weeks?

All I'm looking for, is to reduce the oil/sebum production, and general redness/blemishes of mild acne on my either cheek. I seem to be clearing up past marks from days and weeks gone by, but still allowing in 5, 6, 7 , 8, 9, 10 spots a week. That take a little while to heal (but do eventually).

^^ I'm using this form of zinc.

Any advice of what to expect/change?

I previously took the holland and barretts form of zinc you posted with little success. When I switched to L-OptiZinc, the difference was huge. It's a more bioavailable form of zinc, which the body can absorb better and use more accordingly. Zinc users on this site would recommend either that or zinc picolinate, which I'm currently using with the same success as L-OptiZinc.

Of course, my diet and lifestyle habits had gotten me most of the way. If I hadn't adhered to my ways, zinc would have only brought me so far.

Thanks. What is the best site or place you can recommend for getting L-OptiZinc for someone in the UK?

I just ebay it. Unfortunately I'm not aware of the shop name. It's very easy to find for us UKers when using ebay.

Thanks for that mate, gonna give it a try. I'm gonna use the NOW L-OptiZinc version, which seems to be the most popular. And this form of Zinc is known apaprently as you say to be the best taken. Around how long do you think I can see results? I have to stress, it's only to take on mild acne.

I use that version too. Well, alongside diet changes etc. I saw improvement within 2-3 days! I had severe acne for 9 years, so it took more than just zinc for me. Now I'm completely clear.

I used a zinc cream for a little bit and it reduced my acne for a tad but in the long run it didn't do anything for me.

If you don't have a zinc deficiency then it won't do much for you in the long run.

See if you can get it in your diet through fruits and vegetables too, make's it easier! plus you benefit from the other vitamins, minerals and enzymes in that food too.
