also let me add that for anyone looking to get bc for acne purposes look for your med insurance company online and see what they will give you. check the options, because you may see a great bc online that your insurance does not prescibe. if you have kaiser permenente like i do then they prescibe all of the birthcontrols i have talked about. usually they have a list of everything they will prescribe you. just look under birthcontrol!
Hey there. We just got on kaiser insurance. What do you think of their derm doctors?
kaisers derm doctors are somewhat helpful their biggest downfall is that if you are not totally specific with them they wont prescribe you what you actually want or need. you have to drill it into their heads pretty much. i have been to the derm at kaiser twice already, everytime i went i said i wanted an oral medication such as bc or if there was an alternative to acutane (since my acne is not awful just light to mild in some areas). they prescibed me epiduo at first which worked for a while and then stopped, then i was prescibed retin a which dried out my skin totally and didnt even clear up my acne. maybe it was just the derm i went to, but i felt like she didnt listen to me, im going to a different one this time. thank god
