how long before retin a becomes ineffective?

i've been using retin a for three months now and my skin had greatly improved but now im starting to get pimples again.:{ should i get a higher strength or am i simply becoming immune?

Hello Mindwitch, I used retin-a for 10 years on a low dose before I had to go on 0.01% strength. I added clindamycin 1% to my regimen and its helped tremendously! Maybe your getting the intital breakout, i remember when i first got on the retin-a i saw improvements then i started to break out off and on for the first 8 months after that ive been pretty much clear.

yea im pretty sure its your IBO....you been using it for three months just stick threw it ..i barely have 1 week and 4 days and my IBO is reallly bad ....but i dont let it bring me down and dont let no one judge u only God Can...

how long exactly does the ibo last?

I've been using RAM (0.1 % ) with Clindamycin in the morning and BP before showering for 16 + weeks now (4 months). They say that you can use RAM for up to a year and still see results. Your initial breakout can last for up to 5 months. I'm still getting pimples, but NOWHERE near as much as I used to. And my scars are now drastically fading away. Just stick with it.
