I recently received my supplies of BP and found that instead of being in a tube as usual, it was in a small pump. The thing is I've noticed that it is going on much smoother and drying quicker than the old tube version. Also I've noticed I've started swelling up around my eyes (have been on the regime for over a year and haven't had this problem previously). Has the formulation changed and is this causing my problem? Also are the old tube supplies still available on request? Thanks.

I've also noticed it dries much faster now. I came here to see if anyone noticed this too. I haven't experienced the swelling around the eyes. Sorry!

Last week, somewhere on the website, I read a post by Dan saying they had found a large amount of empty containers that had never been used from about a year ago. He said that instead of throwing them away, he was using them as a container for the meanwhile to be environmentally-friendly. However, he did say the contents would not change, that it would be the same formula, so I can't really answer why it has been irritating your eyes.

Yes, I read that too. But the BP is undoubtedly different. Thinner too I think, otherwise I don't think it would have been able to come through the pump. I actually prefer the new texture and the faster drying time, but it would be good to be able to get some of the old stuff to see if my puffy eyes go down, and decide if that's what is causing my problem. I developed the problem as soon as I opened the new bottle. Anyone else had the same, or noticed a difference like brandonn and I did?

Since no one's addressed this yet I'll just throw it in there,

No, you can't order the tubes on request. They need to use up some supplies they found in the warehouse. He may bring the tubes back for the 8oz after a while though, fingers crossed.

From the way his blog entry is worded, it sounds like you can request a tube. "If you absolutely can’t stand the 8oz. BP bottles, let me know, but if you can stomach them for a little while, I think we can all feel pretty good about it."

Not sure if this means generally, or on an individual basis.

Thanks for pointing that out Manticore, I'm about to order some more BP so I may try asking in the comments section if it would be okay to have a tube.

Don't forget with the smaller pumps you use 2 squirts because they actually give out more BP than the "bigger" pumps. I keep forgetting to mention that. This whole 2 different types of pumps thing is really messy.

Thanks for that Cocobo. I have been using 2 pumps simply because my face isn't big ehough to absorb 3! But I keep vaguely thinking as I slap it on, that I should be using 3, and then thinking how in the world do people get 3 to absorb? So that's sorted out my confusion:)

The latest batch of BP I've got is definitely different to what I've had in the past. This makes my eyes water for a couple of minutes after I've applied it (and I don't put it close to my eyes either).

Yes, that does seem to be a problem with Dan's BP in general, MrFunk. I have had watering eyes with the tube BP too, though not for a while. I heard Dan say a while ago that he was planning to keep a larger stock of BP in hand in future to let it stand for a while, as the problem seems to be related to the stuff being too 'fresh' if you catch my drift. Some people say that if you can store the new bottle with the top off for a while before use, it solves the problem.

My swollen eye has gone thankfully, so I'm not too bothered about whether it's a tube or bottle now:)
